Before and After School Program

(A safe, fun, cool place to be before and/or after school)

For ages 5–12, our Before and After School Program provides the perfect combination of recreational and educational activities for a well-balanced out-of-school experience. Children end each day excited about the broad range of engaging, hands-on activities that allow them to develop their interests and skills. They will also have the opportunity to do homework, so they can complete their academics and have more quality time at home.

The Before and After School Program incorporates:

Breakfast — Includes cereal and fruit alternated with waffles and scrambled eggs with toast. Free play after breakfast is encouraged if time permits. We will ensure your child safely and happily gets on their bus, along with their friends from our program. The school buses stop right in front of our facility.

Lunch — Included when children are off from school and snacks after school, too. All healthy choices that include fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy snacks. We limit sugar in our meals and drinks too.

WE DON’T CLOSE FOR SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, HALF DAYS, WEATHER OR OTHER CLOSINGS – ONLY FEDERAL HOLIDAYS!

Physical Activity/Sports Time — Children can play on our playground or simply go for a (chaperoned) walk. If the weather is uncooperative, they can enjoy games inside (including singing and dancing). This is time spent giving their bodies what they need, while connecting with friends to talk about their day at school. On some days, we’ll provide special activities for this age group.

Group Time — The children gather together to foster a sense of community. Each child shares a positive experience from their day, which gives our teachers the chance to get to know your child, respond to their varying needs, and adapt the program to fit their interests.

Homework/Quiet Time — Provides time for homework. Assistance with homework is always available from our experienced teaching staff. If your child doesn’t have homework, they can participate in a constructive, quiet activity, such as reading a book, putting together a puzzle, or folding an origami swan.

Project Time — Children break up into small groups where they collaborate on various long-term projects.

School and Homework Assistance – We have staff available to assist children with distance learning and other homework.

Convenient hours complement your child’s daily schedule and elementary school closings, as well as bus transportation to and from ANY Hendrick Hudson District School. Private transport for out of district children is available for an additional cost.

NOTE: UNLIKE MANY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND CENTERS, WE ARE OPEN ON SNOW DAYS. WE RARELY, IF EVER, CLOSE AND WILL OPEN IF YOU NEED EMERGENCY CARE. If you can get here and conditions are safe, we will care for your child.
